The official start of Summer is June 21st and if you are anything like me, you are literally counting down the days. Spring is nice and all, but the way these allergies are set up- sis is tireddddttt.. To prepare for the Southern, hot days ahead- I have rounded up a list of my top Summer must-haves for the girls who love to be outside. This season we are prioritizing connection, self-care and new experiences. Cheers to abundance in the sun! Jasmin’s Favorite Summer Must-Haves But First, Sunscreen- Girl, sunscreen is a MUST for every daily beauty routine. Gone are the days where we think that melanated skin doesn't require sunscreen. Honey, it DOES and picking a sunscreen that is lightweight, non-greasy and does not have us looking like Casper the friendly ghost in IG selfies is major. I love Black Girl Sunscreen! Sliding through the CookOut in my SLIDES I admit, I too am over the Yeezy slide movement for easy to wear footwear. I love matching an easy to wear pair of slides or flip flops with my easy summer dresses and cut off shorts. For flip flops, durability is key so I love the OG Old Navy brand in addition to Target essential flip flops. When I am feeling dressy, I definitely love to mix things up with my luxury slides from Dior or Chanel. Don’t make me READ you, girl Of course I love a good Tik Tok scroll session like the rest of us, but this Summer I am really trying to dive into expanding my summer reading list. This season, I am reading Uphill by Jemele Hill and I am loving it so far. The next book on my list is DID YOU HEAR ABOUT KITTY KARR? by Crystal Smith Paul. I can't wait to get into this! Protect me with a PROTECTIVE hairstyle PLEASE Braids, flat twists and natural curls are definitely my vibe during the hot summer months. To keep my hair protected and fresh, I love Grace Eleyae hair ties. The Thin Silk Scrunchie Pack doesn't rip out my hair and helps my regular ponytail stay sleek and pulled together. As a runner-up, Goody brand hair ties will always be a must-have in all of my summer tote bags. For the Girls who love SHADE Speaking of protective hairstyles, I love a good sun hat in this humid, hot Georgia heat. I love grabbing a new sunhat from Target. I love how easy to wear the styles are and how they also protect me from the harsh rays. The fact that they are cute doesn't hurt either. Every Body is a SUMMER body This year, we are not waiting for the perfect summer body to show-out in curvy-loving swimsuits. Every BODY is a summer body and the body I have deserves to be seen. For ultra-flattering swimwear that keeps me comfortable and confident, I love TR3 Mega Sculpting Swimsuits because of their effortless, snatching fit. Gone are the days where you are sacrificing style for support. TR3 Swimsuits are literally AMAZING. Not Your Aunty’s Cover-Up I don't know about you, but this summer I plan to be at somebody’s resort living my best life (in between work of course). Effortless, chic cover ups are the perfect way to lounge around after a good tan or pool session while still feeling modest and pulled together. I love cover-ups and honestly grab a ton of mine on Amazon. Because of the affordable price-point, I never have to worry about them being damaged or dingy after a weekend in the pool. Fitting in my Fitness Yall know that this year I am being intentional about fitting in exercise and wellness in my weekly routine. I find that I tend to feel my best during workouts when I look cute and put together. I can not survive the gym and weekend errands without my lounge sets and activewear. I love Yitty, J Dow Fitness and Eunoia Lifestyle Co. for all things loungewear and fitness sets. Staying Sunny in my Sunnies I have to be honest with yall, I am a habitual sunglasses buyer. Why? I misplace almost every pair of sunglasses I buy. When it comes to sunglasses I like styles that are bold, level-up my outfits and are CHEAP. Obviously Amazon is the GOAT when it comes to finding affordable, stylish frames that are good quality. Target also has a great selection of trendy styles that wont hurt your pockets either. I am a SNACK who loves a good snack Get it :) Anyways, I love connecting and hosting friends during the summer. From BBQ’s to cocktail parties, having good snacks on deck is key to a good summer vibe. I truly love KimBees snacks and beverages for afternoon tea with my girls. When I am playing bartender (or just enjoying a cocktail) I love Avec Drinks mixers. The flavors are easy to mix and honestly they taste great solo or mixed with my favorite spirit. The Hibiscus Teas from Berry Bissap taste really fresh and I love enjoying them for a midday pick-me up. Finally, what is Summer without the perfect frozen treat? Creamalicious ice creams are so delicious. The flavors are so yummy and the perfect after dinner snack.
